I believe the process will take more time than that. The consulate needs to send your application to the comune in Italy and then wait on the comune to complete the process. It sounds like they might take up to 6 weeks to send the documents to Italy, and then you must wait in the Italian comune's ...

Hi,

Running into some problems getting an appointment with my consulate because they're booked out for several years and the calendar doesn't extend beyond that (so I can't even get an appt for 3 years in the future).

Is there any way to make my appointment in Italy? Is there an office / location ...

Thank you for your response! Only Renna is used in Italy and only Renno is used in the USA (for my family).

I'm researching applying for Italian citizenship through my great grandfather. I'm worried about various name spellings up my family line. For example, our last name changed from Renna to Renno in the US. Also, Raffaele became Ralph in some documents, but is Raffaele in others.
