Thanks for your response! She was born in Calascibetta in 1913 to Ignazio and Carmela Mangile. I would very much appreciate any sample letters you have.

First name headaches
My grandmother, who is the key Italian citizen ancestor in my line, seems to have very inconsistent first names in the documents.
My aunt, who has the baptismal certificate and is sending me a copy to help me order it, says Grandma's name on it is Josepha. On the Ellis Island passenger list, she is ...

Boston appointments for trade
If anyone is ready to go with their Boston paperwork and has an appointment later in the year, my sister has two that she's not ready to use (February 7 and 9). Let me know and I'll pass it on to her.

Re: Trouble with the appointment system
We figured it out! Apparently the issue was that the system didn't like the way we typed in the cell phone numbers. It wants it all together with no dashes. I'm glad I figured it out before I went down there.

Re: Trouble with the appointment system
Yes, it's the Boston consulate, but my dad got the same at the Chicago consulate. We called Boston already, there was a message saying to follow the website and otherwise to leave a message. The mailbox was full.

Trouble with the appointment system
Three of us have tried from different computers in different states, PC and Mac, to get to the appointment calendar for the consulate. We all get the same message: "cellular phone, bad format." None of us are using cell phones, just regular laptops and desktops. Anyone else have this issue now or in ...

Re: Starting the long process
After more research, it looks like mt great-grandfather naturalized after my grandmother turned 21, making that the clearest path as my father was born after 1948.
I have heard and seen two different things regarding the other path, and I wonder if anyone can clear it up. My great-grandfather on my ...

Starting the long process
My sister, son, and I are beginning our trek down the long, windy path of dual citizenship. I think we have the right information to start looking for records, but if anyone can help us with any confirmations, that would be fantastic.
We are looking at two paths:
Path 1 - grandma - father - me ...
