Didn't the consulate give you a time frame? For some consulates it is 1 year. After the time frame given by the consulate you should receive an email or letter from the consulate itself confirming or not your citizenship. At least that's how it was with my case.

I had my appointment at the consulate this week. I was told I am eligible for dual citizenship and wait about 6 weeks. I was also told the consulate would write me once they send papers to Italy. Does this mean my citizenship will be recognized or I might hear either way in 6 weeks?
