Re: 1948 Case Lawyers
I am using the Mazzeschi law firm. I don't know anybody else who is using them, but I got started before I read this forum. I hope I made the right choice.

Scoziaitalizo - Congratulations on your progress, and thanks for the reply! I'll look forward to following your case. It has taken so long to gather all my documents and get corrections and clarifications.... I can't wait to actually get the process going.

Re: 1948 Case with Luigi Paiano
So roughly how long is this process taking now? I am getting documents translated as we speak and will be filing my suit as soon as the translations are complete. And are prospects for winning still good?
Thanks!
Michelle

Re: Court Order in Connecticut?
None of my family lives in Connecticut, but I've had the same situation in Missouri. I ended up getting baptismal records and a letter from Missouri stating that a large percentage of births were not recorded at the time of my grandmother's birth.

Re: Requesting Papers from Italy - Any Advice?
I finally hired a researcher to go retrieve my documents. It was a little pricey, but I had everything I needed in hand in about a week. I go back and find his name if you decide to go that route. I am pursuing a 1948 case, and my attorneys also offer document retrieval services.

Re: 1948 case nationalization question
I, too am pursuing a 1948 case. I went through much the same process as you. I had lots of information that indicated my GGF's naturalization. My GGF was rejected. I only discovered this because an archivist in Missouri found a letter my GGF sent to the Clerk in that county stating that it wasn't ...

Re: Translations & prospects for 1948 case
I have numerous documents, but they are birth, marriage, and death certificates. Once someone translates one, the others should be very easy because all that changes will be names and dates.

Re: Translations & prospects for 1948 case
Thank you, Jennabet. I've gotten two quotes in the U.S. One is $2500 and the other is $500. I have NO idea what to do with this because they vary so wildly! I guess I'll get a third U.S. quote as well as the Italian quote.

Translations & prospects for 1948 case
Hello, all! I'm pursuing a 1948 case. I have an attorney in Italy, and I just finished the arduous process of collecting all my documents. According to my attorney, my documents are in order.
My question is regarding translations of U.S. documents. I have found a couple of translators through the ...

Re: 1948 case birth certificate vs. baptismal record
I have checked the Missouri registry prior to 1910.... nothing. I did receive the baptismal certificate. Very few of my records are perfect. There are misspellings and discrepancies in dates and cities. I'm working to get as much corrected as humanly possible. The LAST thing I need is records from ...

Re: 1948 case birth certificate vs. baptismal record
I have thought of it but I wasn't sure they'd even consider it. Is that a possibility? I also have a death certificate for support.

1948 case birth certificate vs. baptismal record
Hi,guys. You have all been so helpful with other issues, I thought I'd throw this out to see if anyone has an answer or has had a similar experience.
I'm pursuing a 1948 case, and my grandmother was born to Italian parents in Missouri. Missouri birth records are a mess. She was born in 1910, which ...

Re: Can I use Great grandmother for citizenship?
Thank you so much for the information, mler! I found a 1942 alien registration card, so I can't believe my ggf naturalized until during or after WWII. That's the only evidence proving or disproving naturalization I can find so far. That's how I discovered he was using July 16 on official documents ...
