Thanks for your reply. Both do in fact exist and are definitely the villages in which they were born. A cousin of mine visited a few decades ago, but haven't had any luck getting info about the family from her. Roiano and Paterno are both frazioni of Campli in Abruzzo, very tiny villages ...

My Italian ancestors are from Abruzzo. I should be ~25% Italian (one grandfather is 100% abruzzese). AncestryDNA reported me at 14% Italian/Greek, 6% Caucasus, 1% Middle East, 1% Asia South. FTDNA doesn't report any southern europe for me but 20% Asia Minor. DNA.land gives me 34% South European, 2 ...
