I would agree with you. I found the town Potenza on the map. Why would the passport have that place listed? It's a long, long way from Palermo. I have started reading and researching Italian customs, rituals, etc, trying to understand the world they lived in. I hate to admit I know more about ...

Peter b. 1893 Sicily
Vincenzo (James) b. 1894 Sicily
Carmen b. 1898 in New York.

We thought the last gap 1894 - 1898 explained by him traveling to ...

An older relative that lived near my grandfather in New Jersey gave all us the passport papers and a birth certificate of Vincenzo Stropoli. He was under the impression it belonged to Vincenzo.

Is this a travel voucher or passport? Family says passport to New Orleans, but no record of him landing there. Rest of family came to New York City, Ellis Island in 1897. Is this a real document? My Gr-grandfather Vincenzo Stropoli.
