Angela – I just finished adding all of this to my tree, and have so many more avenues to explore now. I can't thank you enough for your continued help!

Re: Translate 1869 Birth Record

Angela - Thank you so much for pointing out that the record I found was an abstract. I still have trouble deciphering between that and the original. And thank you for the translations and for finding the record for his first marriage. This is all amazing!

Translate 1861 Birth Act

Can I please get a translation of the below birth act of Raffaele Gaudio (act on the left)? I believe the parents names are Domencio Gaudio and Caterina Furgiuele. Thanks!

Re: Translate 1869 Birth Record

Angela, great news. I was able to find the Marriage Act on FamilySearch while I was at the Family History Center! It is VERY long, so I would appreciate the translation when you have time! Also, it spells his name as Angelo here, opposed to Angiolo as it is on a few other documents, guess i will nee...

Re: Translate 1869 Birth Record

Angela - Thank you so much!! Wow, this is so great. I think FamilySearch may have the act (it shows the year, so I'll check next time I'm there). I'm so glad we figured out the "Iovanna" surname.

Re: Translate 1869 Birth Record

Angela – I haven't been able to locate the marriage record yet, but I found birth records for two more children! The mother's name in both of these is "Iovanna" which makes more sense to me than "Ioanna." I'm thinking Iovanna is the correct one. One of these children has the same...

Re: Translate 1869 Birth Record

That is helpful. I see that it definitely is possible. I think the best next step would be for me to find the marriage record of Emmanuela's parents to see how it looks spelled on there. I will go to my local FHC soon. Thanks!

Re: Translate 1869 Birth Record

Angela - thank you! I'm unsure that the mother's name is 'Maria Ioanna." Is Ioanna a common surname in the town? I read it as Joanna, and it's stated as 'Maria Joanna' on Emanuela's marriage record when she got married in New York. What are your thoughts?

Re: Translate 1869 Birth Record

Thank you both! It looks like the father (declarant) signed the act, so I'm assuming the written portion after the witnesses claims he was literate?

Translate 1869 Birth Record

Can I please get a translation of this birth record, including all vital information, the witnesses, and the paragraph after the witnesses are stated? Thanks. Re: Cross-Check My Translations of 2 Birth Acts?

Would you mind checking the below 2 as well? I'm confused on one part, for the child born in 1909 the father signs the act and for the child born in 1904 he doesn't and is referred to as illiterate. Do we assume he became literate between 1904 and 1909? Domenicantonio Pezzente Birth Act 1904_Pezzent...
