Re: Translate 1869 Birth Record

Angela – I haven't been able to locate the marriage record yet, but I found birth records for two more children! The mother's name in both of these is "Iovanna" which makes more sense to me than "Ioanna." I'm thinking Iovanna is the correct one. One of these children has the same name as Emmanuela, ...

Re: Translate 1869 Birth Record

That is helpful. I see that it definitely is possible. I think the best next step would be for me to find the marriage record of Emmanuela's parents to see how it looks spelled on there. I will go to my local FHC soon. Thanks!

Re: Translate 1869 Birth Record

Angela - thank you! I'm unsure that the mother's name is 'Maria Ioanna." Is Ioanna a common surname in the town? I read it as Joanna, and it's stated as 'Maria Joanna' on Emanuela's marriage record when she got married in New York. What are your thoughts?

Re: Translate 1869 Birth Record

Thank you both! It looks like the father (declarant) signed the act, so I'm assuming the written portion after the witnesses claims he was literate?

Re: Cross-Check My Translations of 2 Birth Acts?

Would you mind checking the below 2 as well? I'm confused on one part, for the child born in 1909 the father signs the act and for the child born in 1904 he doesn't and is referred to as illiterate. Do we assume he became literate between 1904 and 1909? Domenicantonio Pezzente Birth Act 1904_Pezzent...

Re: How to Find Siblings of Ancestor Born After 1903?

As stated above, there’s nothing online after 1903, and if I had names/birth dates, I would obviously not be asking this question. The whole point is that I don’t.

How to Find Siblings of Ancestor Born After 1903?

Hello. I'm trying to find siblings of my great-grandmother who was born in Sepino in 1914. I know she was born in 1914 due to having her birth and death certificates that were given to me by her daughter. However, on Antenati, Sepino only has birth records up until 1903. My great-grandmother's paren...
