Re: Translation help for record of exposed infant

This is great! In the image you just linked to, I see that Concetta Crisi's husband's last name is something like Bulsei. Luisa Esposito ended up marrying a widower whose first wife had the same last name. So I really have a lot to explore here.

Re: Translation help for record of exposed infant

Esposito was a surname given to some such babies in Italy. It means "exposed" or "placed outside".

Since there was a stigma attached it to the surname Esposito was sometimes changed by the abandoned person when they got older.

Thank you, this is so interesting! I had no idea about this.

Re: Translation help for record of exposed infant

Ok, thank you! I wish I had more options, but I know that finding her parents would unfortunately be very difficult.

The main thing I was really trying to read on the record I first linked to is the part where they mentioned giving the baby to someone, a name that looked something like Concetta ...

Re: Translation help for record of exposed infant

Re: Translation help for record of exposed infant

I posted this last week, but since I'm a new member, it had to be approved first. If there is any other info you need that I left out, please just let me know.

Translation help for record of exposed infant

Hi, this is my first post here. Thank you in advance to anyone that can help.

I've been searching for information on my 2nd great grandmother, (Maria) Luisa Esposito, from Prata d'Ansidonia in Abruzzo. I had her birthdate and knew that her parents were always listed as unknown, but I finally found ...
