Thanks, Erudita!
That's unfortunate about Carlo, but not surprising. Can I ask you how you approach these indexes - are you reading every page and scanning for names? Or is there a listing to see first?

Re: Requesting help with Partinico ancestry
THIS IS AMAZING!!!!!! Wow! Thank you, Erudita! I can't thank you enough!!!
It must be that there was a second Carlo (born 1891 and baptised in Partinico) and then Angelina in 1895. This would perhaps explain the age gap between the Partinico siblings and Stefana. I'm so excited to dig into this ...

Re: Requesting help with Partinico ancestry
Thank you, Erudita! That is very interesting - and every piece to the puzzle helps. I guess other members of the family made their way to Partinico from Palermo as well. This summer we went to Partinico, thinking I'd be able to find something about my GGM. We actually walked through that cemetery ...

Re: Requesting help with Partinico ancestry
Hi Erudita,
I'm grateful for what you've been able to do. I have already reached out to the authors of the Simoncini/Morone post.
I'll keep looking.
Thanks!
Sybil

Re: Requesting help with Partinico ancestry
Thank you, Erudita. Do you know whether Sant'Agata might have online records? Since Giuseppe was born there and his parents married there, perhaps he married there as well? I'm purely guessing at this point. I don't know why we can find the family's records but not his marriage or the birth record ...

Re: Requesting help with Partinico ancestry
Quick question please - given the Simoncini family births seem to be largely in Sant'Agata and Sant'Oliva, would those be reasonable parishes to search for the marriage of Giuseppe Simoncini and Rosa Arusa?
Thanks,
Sybil

Re: Requesting help with Partinico ancestry
This forum is AMAZING! Thank you so much!
I'm attaching the record I have for Rosa Agrusa's birth as well as the record for her parents' marriage. I had assumed Partinico for Stefana's birth since that was the last location listed on her immigration/ship manifest documents. I had also used 1879 as ...

Re: Requesting help with Partinico ancestry
Thank you so much! I'm really stumped now.
Would it be possible (if you are willing) to check Palermo?

Re: Requesting help with Partinico ancestry
Thank you for the translation help.
If anyone can help with the marriage records or other information about the Simoncini side, I would really appreciate it. I need to find my great-grandmother's birth certificate. Thanks!

Requesting help with Partinico ancestry
Hello!
I had hired someone to order the birth certificate of my great-grandmother, Stefana Simoncini (b. 1879?), from Partinico. Attached you will find null results document - they looked over many years and couldn't find her. He did find her brother's baptism record (also attached). There is an 11 ...

Re: Baptism translation
Yes, I had a request in to Partinico commune for her records and they searched many years and found nothing. I had always thought she was born there, so I'm now struggling to find her records. I also haven't found the marriage record of Giuseppe Simoncini and Rosa Agrusa (parents of Carlo), which ...

Re: Baptism translation
I'm having trouble finding her birth certificate, which is how I came across Carlo's baptism record. I believe she was born in 1879 based on immigration records (she came to the US in 1901 at the age of 22).

Re: Baptism translation
Thank you so very much!
My great-grandmother was Stefana Simoncini, and I thought her parents were Giuseppe and Rosa, making her Carlo's sister. However, the way this is written makes me think she is only the daughter of Giuseppe, maybe from a different relationship? Would that make sense?

Hello,
I tried to post this last week but it was never approved for posting. Thought I'd try again.
Would anyone be able to help me translate the attached baptism record please?
Thanks,
Sybil
