Suanj: Thanks for checking - however, my grandfather was born in 1888. That is the information the cemetery provided me. His father's name was Francisco - I believe the manifest lists Pietro. How did you get the spelling of Finini? Maybe I can twist the letters too and check other manifests. With ...

Form 81
Peter - As I previously stated, I received several death cert. for children that died after my father was born. His mother's name was spelled at least 4 differenct ways on each certificate. So, I'm checking under all listings. My father always pronounced it: May-lon-e, and I'm sure that it could ...

Form 81
Peter - I did receive a copy of his original SS-5 form. Yes it does state all that you said = it lists Newark as his place of birth. He got his SS# in 1942 = he was born in 1910. It lists his mother's name as Lena Milone. I just got the address for Nicolina Melone you suggested I write to. I will ...

Nara 81
Peter - Sorry - but I just noticed your earlier reply. I am certain she went to live in New Jersey (Newark). My father was born in 1910 and all his SS application form lists the above as his birthplace. I wrote to Neward and they have no record. I checked w/Cincinnati, Ohio (that's where his SS# was ...

Form 81
Peter and Suanj: As always, thanks for searching and supplying me with info. I will do as you say. This can be very frustrating at times. On a couple death certificates for my uncles (whom I did not know about) her maiden name is spelled numerous different ways: maelone, meloni, maloni, malone. My ...

Thank you both for your replies. I will still keep checking. I received an extensive reply from a NARA technician. He more or less suggested that I find her on a census record. My trouble is..I'm not sure of where she came to live in the US. Also, he mentioned Naturalization records. I don't think ...

Nara Form 81
I have just received a reply back from NARA regarding an inquiry about trying to find my grandmother's entry to the US. I completed Form 81, as much as I knew, but they said without knowing what port she arrived, they could not help me. When I previously told the board I didn't know what port she ...

Malone/Fiorini Grandparents
I would appreciate some help in trying to find my dad's parents. I have checked on Ellis Island, Ancestry, etc but no luck. My grandmother came from a town called Acquila (sp?) and was born 1883. My grandfather was from Tivoli and born in 1888. His name Joseph (Guiseppe) Fiorini and her name ...

Fiorini Ancestry
I am trying to locate my grandfather's family - think they were from Tivoli and grandmother was from Acquila (sp)? Her last name was Malone (doesn't sound Italian) - GrandF name was Joseph - born around 1888 - would like to know names of his siblings. Thanks!
