Peter, I\'ve noticed that quite a few of your replies are always the same. Perhaps this site needs a \'HOW TO\' category so the repetitive questions and answers could be addressed there! (Not that your personal attention isn\'t greatly appreciated!)
Dear Friend:
I live in the United States and am looking for relatives of my grandfather, John Doe, born January 1, 1901, son of Mary Doe. John\'s sisters were Anna Doe(who married Bob Smith) and Marie ...
We\'ve spoken before...I\'m researching Albino in Ripacandida and Chieppa in Muro Lucano. Using the Italian White Pages, I\'ve located a few Albino\'s in the area, and even fewer Chieppa\'s. My question to you is: Are the people of Italy very receptive to receiving inquiries ...

Birth & Social Security questions

Regarding the Social Security Information: If your grandfather had a social security number, he would have filled out an SS-5 form. Sometimes the place of birth, spouse and parents names were listed, sometimes not. If you know where he died, get a copy of his death certificate as it usually has the ...

looking for relatives in Bari and Puglia and Italy

Did you try the Italian White Pages? If you know the city where your family may have originated from, you could start there. Go to www.paginebianche.it and put your family name Ambriola on the first line and enter the city on the third line. Evidently you must have a city name in order to do a ...

Locating Living Relatives DeSapio, Albino, Pepice in Ripacan

What a great resource! I found 2 Albinos in Potenza, but unfortunately none in Ripacandida. Are there different White Pages for different parts of Italy? I attempted to look up another relative in Mura Lucano, but I think it told me that that town was out of the look-up area.

Locating Living Relatives DeSapio, Albino, Pepice in Ripacan

Now that I\'ve got most of the official US paperwork going, does anybody have a basic procedure for going about finding relatives in Italy? Really don\'t know if any are still alive, but would like to find out.

Searching For Info on DeSapio, Albino from Ripacandida

I\'ve gone to the doj. as you suggested and downloaded the form that I\'m going to send in. That was a great tip that I have since passed along. If I were going to try to locate baptismal records in Ripacandida and didn\'t know the name of the church, how would I go about getting them? I would think ...

Searching For Info on DeSapio, Albino from Ripacandida

Again, thanks for the great tip Peter. While Italian isn\'t my second language, I may be able to find someone to translate for me. Also, since my grandfather Nicolo arrived in 1913 at the age of about 13, he may have lived in Pennsylvania about the time that he was married (1921). I was thinking I ...
