Although I am an experienced researcher of Italian records I have never done anything in American records. A colleague obtained some records for me for a potential ancestor who emigrated from England. Declaration of Intent, land patents etc. The declaration of intent was filed in 1870 the same year ...

See if they can be found on the same ship or from same town. A longshot! Maria was only 19 when Rose was born and already had 2 children...

Re: Castelgrande Records

Parish records are your only option before 1809. Priests don't often do research (they don't have time or interest)
Have you checked the Processetti records on Antenati?

Re: Help Needed

After 1865 birth records are held in the Comune di Pescina. You will need to write for the record.
Before 1865 they can be found on line at Family Search or Antenati.

The State Archives do not issue copies except under very special circumstances.
You can write to the town or take a screen shot.

You can write to them enclosing an addressed envelope and photoID or pay a service to get them. I assume for citizenship purposes?

Are you saying that you have contacted the Comune and they won't provide a birth record unless you know the names of the parents?

Re: Why did my ancestors name three of their children Rocco?

It was probably the same for this family. the first Rocco died, second one is Rocco Pasquale (called Pasquale or Roccopasquale daily), 3rd one is ju...

The second copies held at the Tribunal were destroyed in WW2 (like many other towns). The first copies are still held by the town.

Re: Death acts not witnessed by family or friends/neighbors

Specialized workers from other parts of Italy often came to towns devastated by earthquakes or other natural disasters to help with the reconstruction. They often married a local girl and stayed.
