May I suggest that you edit the post and withdraw the address... just to avoid spammers!

I will post a translation of the letter in the next few minutes.

Now, if this is all the info I have, and I look up the birth certificates for this village in 1851, what if I find two Antonino Amatos? How could I determine which one eventually married Giovanna Oliva and had those sons?
Usually the birth acts have an annotation with the marriage information.

Re: Ancestry from Alia, (Name Michel, Micheli, Miceli)

Virginia Ann's parents were Giuseppe Miceli and Giuseppa Campiere and they married on January 24, 1895 (see http://www.lordsofdoom.com/michelmarriage4.jpg ) in New Orleans, Church of St. Philip.

The surname to track back in Italy is Miceli.

That's true, however the majority of the people contributing or inquiring in this forum understand only English and I personally believe it is unfair to use another language.

Re: Deciphering a name

CABBA is a first name as I indicated above. This is located in the first item in Google.com. If someone wants to they can research the origins of the first name Cabba which seems to be of Spanish Origin but this is more anecdotal on my part than substantiated. In additon to being a first name in th...
