Great Grandparents
Great Grandparents
I always seem to get stopped at my Great Grandparents. They were from Sicily but not sure where. Found him in the 1930 census living with his son.His name is Nickolas Cira her name is Mary Longo. The census says he immigrated here in 1894,born in 1873.I cannot find any info except this census and a death certificate.

Re: Great Grandparents
I need a location of where he was living when he got here in 1894, if known, where in 1930 and when and where did he die. =Peter=

Re: Great Grandparents
8O Wow,
so it can be possible that Leonardo Cira (44 years old in 1890) was the grandfather of Leonardo Cira son of Nickolas....

Re: Great Grandparents
She listed LeonardA as a male so figure its a typo in the records and carried forward to here... but that does make your reasoning quite sound!!! =Peter=
Re: Great Grandparents

Re: Great Grandparents
Hi, If you're referring to this arrival manifest:
Are these your ancestors?
Laura
unfortunately being an early manifest the only place listed as place of origin is Sicily (the region)...Pink67 wrote:New York Passenger Lists, 1820-1957

Re: Great Grandparents
Laura, as an aside ,I checked out the social security death records for both Nicolo, nicholas, nickolas, nickey nick Cira as wellas Domenico, Domenick, Domenic Cira and there is no record of their death listed meang they either went back to Italy, or are still living in the USA...Do you happen to know what state they went to live when they got here? =Peter=

Re: Great Grandparents
The 1910 census I cannot read where they are from.It looks like St- Italian
Re: Great Grandparents
Usually on the censuses manifests there was only the state from which they were from.... so Italy....
St. Italian possible was for South Italian
