Wow ! Thanks, everyone. I will spend time with all you've given me so far and go from there. If you fidn any more, please keep it coming....I am sooooo grateful for your time and efforts. Yes, the WWI card is correct. I did actually have that, but it is the right Peter. As for the others, I just don't know yet. I know he had a brother named Paul, but we never heard about other siblings or his family coming over, too. I will look into it all and get back to you all. Thanks again. LMecchi....islandgal

I noticed now the obituary is too little to read ....

here is:

MECCHI, Peter J. of 1422 70th Avenue, Oakland, October 25, 1956, beloved husband of the late Rose Mecchi, loving father of Mrs. Ethel Ferrari of Walnut Creek, Edmund, Lawrence and Kennet Mecchi. A native of Province Lucca, Italy. Aged 87 years. Friends are invited to attend the funeral from the New Mortuary of C. P. Bann??? 5800 East 14th street, Oakland, on Monday morning October 29th at 9.30 thence to St. Bernard's Church ...? Requiem Mass commencing at 10 o'clock. Internment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
