Does anyone know whether one's service in World War II signifies a renunciation of Italian citizenship for my grandfather? He was born eight years before his father's (my bisnonno/great-grandfather's) naturalization.
I suspect this service does not violate the fact that an ascendant cannot have renounced Italian citizenship because the affidavit reads "before an Italian official."
Nonetheless, I would appreciate anyone's feedback.
Best,
Benito

Service during the war does not constitute renunciation.
