Italian Cavalry

As a nation state, Italy has emerged only in 1871. Until then the country was politically divided into a large number of independant cities, provinces and islands. The currently available evidences point out to a dominant Etruscan, Greek and Roman cultural influence on today's Italians.

Italian Cavalry

Post by SAGE »

HI
I am looking for my maternal grandfather's military records.
He was in the cavalry in the Italian army in WW1.
He is from Montegaldella Province of Vicenza.
If anyone could advise me where to find this information it would be most appreciated.

Hi, I read your post on Italian genealogy, and was wondering if you ever found an answer to your question?
I too am trying to locate records for my father in law who served in the Calvary, World War I in Italy. Thanks, Robin

Hi Robin
My grandfather military service records were at Archivio di Stato di Vicenza.
Email: ARCHIVIO DI STATO VICENZA <as-vi@beniculturali.it>
They wanted to know my grandfather parents names.
