Hi:
I'm interested in obtaining copies of my mother's cousin's military records from Italy. I believe he was killed in action on the first day of the Italian/Franco campaign. The information in his estratto di nascita is as follows:
Enriù Fedele di Giovanni e di Porta Lucia, nato il 12/08/1908 a Torino (morto il 21/6/1940 a Valpreiser, Francia).
I was thinking of writing to the state archives in Torino but I don't believe that they will have the information as it is not 75 years old.
Can anyone tell me where I should write and what I should ask for? I'm not merely looking for information relative to a liste di leva - I would like his entire record if possible.
Thanks much in advance!
Marc

Hi, because your ancestor was born in 1908, I believe that you can made the request... me too, I request a year ago a copy of military papers of a man born in 1896.. and I had infos until 1956 ( he was a official) year of death... so you can write to:
ARCHIVIO DI STATO DI TORINO
Piazza Castello 209
10124 Torino (TO)
Italy
as-to @ beniculturali.it ( NO SPACES)
asking the:
fotocopia -a fini genealogia familiare- di RUOLO MATRICOLARE di
ENRIU' Fedele di Giovanni e di Porta Lucia, nato il 12/08/1908 a Torino .
hoping helpful,
