As Suanj says it is Romanian. This is what a friend of mine says about it:
"offro con piacere questa fotografia ai miei cari, zia, cugini e cugine, con tanto affetto (amore) - poi si firma- Esterica..... poi di lato sulla parte sinistra, ha scritto: "nel giorno in cui ho compiuto 17 anni"
This pic has been given by the woman to her aunt and cousins saying that she loves them very much. Her name was Esterica and it was the day of her 17th birthday.

Confrontando, parola per parola, la frase manoscritta con la traduzione offerta dal tuo amico ne deriva che in romeno la parola "matusa" significa "cari, zia, cugini e cugina"...
