Researching my CAPPELLI line.

Post by Phoenix »

I am the first in my family to do this but it's important to me so....I am a 4th generation italian and am starting from scratch. My Cappelli line comes from Butera, Caltannisetta, Sicily. If anyone has information that I could use, please leave me a reply. Thanks, and have a great day 8) Ciao!

There is a book which is an easy read Italian genealogical records by Trafford R. Cole and will enable yopu to understand the significance of the websites that I can refer you to so that you can inegrate that with your research objectives. In short, trace backwards from the USA. Starting ,perhaps with www.ellisisland.org website and assuming you can read italian or arfe disposed to viewing original town recors on micorfilm go to the Family Histoyr Library of the Mormon church nearest your home and rent the civil records for Butera which go back to 1809.If you are seeking current relagtives or persons having the same surname in Butera then go to www.paginebianche.it and insert the Cappelli surname in thje first line and the town in the third line and clcik CERCA for any lsiting. This should be enough to start you off. Peter
