I am sure my g.grandfather returned to Italy to live permanently in about 1913 from New Zealand where he was a naturalised citizen. The question is, would he have regained Italian Citizenship on his return to live there. If so does this mean that his descendants born after his departure have Italian citizenship jure sanguinis ? What is the situation for those who wish to claim Italian Citzenship?
Great news recently. Not confirmed yet ,but sure I found the birth comune of my trisnonna , Santa Maria Lucchi b.1830 Comune di Ala, Trentino, just waiting in baptism certificate. Thanks Riccardo for your suggestion to write to Claudio Andreolli.
Does anyone have Lucchi or Andreoli family from Ala?
Bye for now,
Zanna

Re: regaining citizenship
why not write to the Ufficio ANAGRAFE (registry office) inhis town of residence/origin and ask if there is a record of his loss of Italian citizenship when he returned to Italy to reside or did he continue to enjoy his Italian citizenship which he acquired at birth.

for a form letter addressed to the Uffico Anagrafe. =Peter=

Youmight try the town of residence upon his return to Italy if different than his town of origin. =Peter=
