Can not find record of relatives in Italy

I am very new to this, so there is probably something very easy that I could do, but, I have no idea what that is. I am looking for records of my great-great grandparents Antonio and Carmina Saravo/Sarao. My Great Uncle\'s obit says he was born in Marzano Appio, Caserta, Italy. I know that they had one child, Lina, in Italy, moved to Rhode Island, had a boy (my great grandfather), Gennaro, then moved back to Italy and had my uncle, Angelo (who goes by the last name of Sarao). I found an online record of Gennaro\'s birth, but can not find a written copy. All the engines I have search say there is no such surname (either one). Where do I go from here?

write to the town of origin and request a birth record from the Ufficio di Stato Civile giving the full name you have and date of birth, enclose a self addressed envelope and $5.00 for stamps and that can satisfy the need for a surname record. Peter
