Taormina Family

Post by Marilynnotojohnson »

My Grandfather's name was Antonio Taormina. He was born in Calatafimi, Sicily in 1889. He married my Grandmother, Maria Sodero in Alcamo, Sicily abt 1913-1914. Antonio died during the First World War. I am looking a marriage certificate and possible death certificate for Antonio. They had a son (my Father), Erasmo Taormina who was born in Alcamo, Sicily.

Perhaps he died not as a soldier but as a civilian? Italy suffered 589,000 civilian deaths during WWI, almost equaling the 651,000 military deaths. (source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_ ... 14_borders )
