Virginia, Miami Consulate Please Help

Post by liltally »

I went for my appointment today. At 10:00 on the dot a lady called me up to the window and started asking for documents...grandfathers papers good, mothers good, Mine holy hello she didn't like my marriage certificate but they are the exact copy of how my mothers are written same format and she had no complaint about hers. Then came my final judgement for dissolution of marriage which she also didn't except and again same format as my mothers. She was kind enough both my boys were standing with me so she just took there paper work even though my oldest had his own appointment. Can anybody please explain what I need I've called Office of vital Statistics where I purchased every document Apostille/Exemplified there telling me these are the documents I need. Then she handed me a paper Dichiarazione Sostitutiva Dell'Atto Di Notorieta I can't fill it out cause I don't understand it..Please if anybody has any idea help...plz

Post what the Dichiarazione Sostitutiva Dell'Atto Di Notorieta says and we can translate it for you. The wording depends on what it's being used for. Here's an online version that you can fill out online, then print out.

As for the marriage docs, etc, you need to find out what the consulate's objection to the documents was. Otherwise you cannot make the changes they are seeking.

Thank You for answering. As for the marriage certificate she said it didn't have enough information no previous marriages but I was never married before. It is the exact format of my mothers that she excepted so I called the Florida Vital statistics and they sent me a letter showing that prior certificates did not show statistical data it wasn't until after 1972 that they began combining marriage license and application's together. So I will send this letter on to Virginia and see what shw wants to do.
