Amabile surname at Castel San Giorgio

Can somebody help me finding the origins of the Amabile family at Castel San Giorgio? My Grand father Rafaelle Francesco Amabile went to Argentina and then to Uruguay, where I was born.

I assume you mean the Castel San Giorgio in the province of Salerno judging from the surname Amabile. There are 59 currently residing in that town and if you go to www.paginebianche.it and review their names and addresses for any clue such as first names which tend to remain in families and with whom you may wish to correspond. You can also request Raffaello Francesco Amabile birth records which will furnish you with his parents names and, if you wish, you can go to the nearest Family History Library in Uruguay nearest your home and rent out the microfilm of the civil records which normally shoul date between 1809 and 1910. If you wish additional information in pursuing your reseasrch I can furnish you with translation letter websites etc. Peter
