Could someone please review this morti and tell me where Cesare died and why this death act is not on a standardized form.
Thank you
Jim

Re: Cesare Perrotti morti
Hi Jim,
Pending a more informed opinion from one of our fine Italian experts, let me hazard a guess. It looks to me as if the clerk in the Civil Records office received a letter from the local hospital, dated "today" (i.e. 31 Dec 1879) saying that Cesare died at 11 in the morning "yesterday" (i.e. 30 Dec 1879). The clerk records this in the register of allegati and then signs his name to end the entry. (The rest of your files concerns the closing of the registry for 1879.) I believe that since the death was reported in a letter rather than in person, the clerk records it in the book of allegati rather than in the atti di morte and thus it's written out rather than entered into a form. At least that's the pattern and custom I've seen in records from my grandfather's comune.
Best,
Jerry

I sort of surmised that a hospital was involved but could not find ospedale in the text.
That was a very eloquent explanation. Your assistance is very much appreciated.
Thank you so much.

Hi Jim
"spedale" is also hospital
It was actually a notification from the Director of the city's hospital.
