Pazi family/Tyrol

I am searching for my husband's grandfather Louis (Luigi) PAZI and his parents. Louis was born 1855 in what was then the Austrian Tyrol. He immigrated to Lafayette Parish, Louisiana, USA Oct 2, 1881 through the port of New Orleans probably on a ship out of Marselle, France with about 150 other men from Austria/Tyrol all listed as carpenters.

Since the census records show Louis spoke Austrian Italian, we believe he came from the part of the Tyrol that is now in Italy. The 1900 Lafayette Parish census shows him living next door to a Louis PAZI senior born 1825 and wife Rosa. Louis Sr and Rosa look like the younger Louis' parents as they are listed as being married 44 years and the younger Louis was age 43.

Louis married Adrienne Marie Choplin in 1898 and they had 2 daughters Emelie Lucy Rosa PAZIE in 1899 and Marie Louise PAZIE in 1901. (Note the change of spelling)

Unfortunately, Adrienne died in 1902, Louis senior died in 1904, Louis died in 1907 and Rosa died in 1909. All before the 1910 census and with no other information on the burial records.

Any help will be appreciated. There are no PAZI families listed in the current Tyrol region. There are Pazi's currently in the next farther south regions across Italy.

really, currently Pazi families not is in Tyrol region; are PazZi families and De Pazzi...not are records in Italy for Pazi person emigrated 1880/1891

Youi have the name and the date of entry which should give you the information. In the event the information obtained from him at time of entry into New orleans, then go to the Puvlic library and request the NARA microfilm M259 which is the passenger lists of vessels arriving at New Orleans 1820 thru 1902. You can either go to the library in New orleans at Loyola Avenue(504-596-2610. Peter

The town is the problem. The only records we have found are naturalization paper, marriage record, burial record, 1900 census record. All records just say Tyrol.

I have found the ship and looked at the passenger list. All it says for where he is from is Austria. Tyrol was part of Austria in 1881. And he arrived with about 150 other carpenters from Austria. Actually we only found the L as his first initial and male age 26 from Austria, no last name. But it was the only ship arriving in New Orleans Oct 2, 1881 and everything fit. It just happened to be the top name on that page and the passanger's last name was torn off. But we are 99.9% sure it was him. I just wish the name had been spelled out and that there had been more info.

We finally found my husband's grandfather, Louis Pazi and his parents. Louis was actually born Luigi Batista Giovanni Pasi, son of Luigi Pasi b 1826 of Poia and wife Domenica Rosa Benuzzi born 1835 in Stumigia.

Luigi's father was Battista Pasi b 1797 in Lomaso wife Caternia Segalla b 1801 in Lomaso.

Domenica Rosa Benuzzi's parents were Geocomo Antonio Benuzzi b 1799 and Mariana Maino b in Lundo.

Four sisters immigrated to Louisaina with them in 1881, Josephina, Maria Rosa, Elvira Letizia and Assunta. The first 3 girls died by the time they were 20. Their deaths are recorded in the original birth book in church at Poia/Godenza. Can't find death for Assunta.

Would like to contact anyone interested in any of these people.

Any of these names appear?

Trentino - Alto-Adige/Südtirol/South-Tyrol since 1919 italian, as was lost after WW1. North- and East-Tyrol in present Austria.

this means he was austrian (as was that time part of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire) and he spoke italian.
there is no language austrian-italian.
both are different languages.

Hello - I am trying to find additional information on Isaia Bonavida and Ida "Bosatti" is how it is spelled on their marriage certificate but I think it is wrong. Immigrated 10/1/1894 from Lundo. Anyone here related?
