I know there are currently SPINOLA in almost every States of Italy, but I like to know who was the first SPINOLA of Italy ?

Who knows it ?

Hi: the Spinola family is very ancient, and sure coming from Genova and Ronco Scrivia town(Liguria region)..
-In Genova town are sure presence of an OBERTO SPINOLA around 1888, on an construction "San Luca"church in Genova: "Le origini della chiesa di San Luca risalgono al XII secolo: fu costruita infatti fra il 1188 e il 1189 da Oberto Spinola"...

-in 1194 1 Aug., an captain Spinola of Genova fleet , are in the navy battle around Messina coast:" La battaglia fu cruenta ed indecisa fino all'ultimo istante, ma alla fine la flotta genovese, comandata dall'ammiraglio Spinola ebbe la meglio. "


-are also this data of Guglielmo Spinola in 1239 year: " Tra le varie famiglie che hanno avuto il dominio su RONCO, la ma importante è stato quello dello Spinola. Il suo dominio cominciò nel 1239 con Guglielmo Spinola e ha continuato con alternate vicissitudini, fino al 1793 con l'investitura di Carlo Spinola, ultimo conte di RONCO e marchese di Roccaforte.
