Hello, my surname is Lucia. My ancestors left out of the port in Naples but I believe they were from Castelfranco. Was the surname always Lucia or was the De dropped from it as in it used to be De Lucia? I am wondering if Lucia is a real italian surname and any information on the surname? thank you

no relationships there. im 15 years old. My grandpa (Joseph D. Lucia II) came to CT as a child with his father, Philip J. Lucia. Philip was married to Mary but i don't know her maiden name. Because my grandpa is the Joseph Lucia the second and his dad was philip, i am assuming that his grandfather (my great-great grandfather) was joseph/guiseppe D. Lucia the first?

He changed his name to Lucy because he had a store and he wanted it to be more american. I am changing my surname back to Lucia. I can't find his father though
