Gavino Bellucci

Post by mousie206 »

Gavino came to Brooklyn, NY in 1901 staying with his daughter Agnese at 302 Union Ave. His wife Filomena Montano and children Pasquale, Elvira and Guiseppe came in 1906 to join him at 240 Union Ave.

My gr-gr-grandmother was on the same ship as the wife and children and listed Gavino as who she would be staying with. I am trying to find out how he knew my family and if he is related to us.

They probably knew each other if they both came from the same town (did you check the ships manifest?) and met on the ship or came together from the town and boarded the ship together. Either way you will have to locate the woman yourself. Peter

They did not come from the same town. My grandmother was from Florence and worked in Naples. The Bellucci's were from Taufino.

Then maybe they met on board the ship and she did not have an address so your grandmother gave her the Brooklyn address. If she was related to your family or family friend it was a long time ago and people drift away from eachother. Peter
