I am looking for information anyone might have on POW records from WWII. My grandfather, Matteo Sauro of Ripabottoni Italy, was captured in Egypt on January 3, 1945 and held in Alexandria Egypt for 7 months before being put on a ship and sent to Liverpool England via South Africa.
I am trying to put the pieces together from information I collected from him, and tracing this down is very difficult. I can verify different stages of WWII that are in line with his memory but as for names of places he stayed.......I'm coming up with zero
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Steve, try this link. If you have his service number etc they should be able to help you here as Italian POW's resided in Pretoria in South Africa. Ive just recently obtained my grandfather, Owen Ogle's military records from here.steve.sauro wrote:I am looking for information anyone might have on POW records from WWII.
