Guiseppe Rocchi

Post by vrochi »

Looking for information about Guiseppi Rocchi. Not much information on this end. My family on my father's side and I have not spoken since his passing in 1995 (my father).

I was told by my father, that my g father passed in 1943, was a sculpter and emigrated to the U.S. around 1915-25. I have one uncle and one aunt that I have been told are of Rocchi blood.

I don't know if my g mother and g father were ever married. But my father was born in Nelson, Ga. in 1935. I can't find any marriage records of them both but I can of her ( Jeanette Doris Coker).

I know this is like asking ( Are you my mother?) But I need somewhere to start . I looked in the Ellis Island records and it seems as though the Rocchi name is as common as Smith or Jones.

This was not his first trip to the states. There are other manifests. It appears that he was a "bird of passage" and went back to Italy every few years.

Destination: Nelson GA to join his friend Beniamino Milani (this is likely the Beniamino Milani mentioned in the Italian marble cutters article above. You might want to contact the Milani family, Bob and Susan, to see if they can be of help).

Not sure if you've seen this record from NARA.
