Ancestors from Villa Oliveti, Rosciano, Pescara

Post by TriciaFierro »

Has anyone attempted to get records for this area of Italy? Villa Oliveti is very small and I haven't had as much luck finding my Di Persio ancestors here as I have in other areas of Italy. Although I have not gone to the family history center to research this line of my family yet I'm just curious if anyone has any info on the ins and outs of this particular area? My great-grandfather Camillo DiPersio immigrated to US in 1906 and I have his ship manifest as well as that of his brother Generro Andrea Di Persio. His manifest as well as his naturalization papers note that he was born and from Villa Oliveti, Rosciano, Pescara. What I don't have is any information on Camillo from BEFORE they came to the US. I have Camillo's info as far as naturalization, all census records, draft registrations, etc once in US, but nothing prior to his immigration. Same for Generro Andrea Di Persio, his brother. I have a hint that their father's name MIGHT have been Pantaloone Di Persio and that their moither's name might have been Rita Torelli. Generro Andrea's manifest does state that he is going to stay in Philadelphia, PA with his uncle last name Torelli so this may mean his mother was Torelli, but no proof. Any suggestions on working in this area of Italy or on finding more info on this family? Thank you!

Thank you Marty and Livio! I did see that email address on the Rosciano website, but are you saying Livio that it's better to send via postal mail than email?
