Translation of marriage certificate of Maddalena Bassanelli

Post by audbro »

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help with the translation of this marriage certificate. An ancestor named Maddalena Bassanelli daughter of Giuseppe Bassanelli and Bernardina Bellotti who was born in 1877 in Sernio, Sondrio was known to have married Giuseppe Robustelli and I would like to know if this could be their marriage certificate. I don't read Italian so am unable to read the names. Thanks [img][/img]

A larger image would certainly help. It looks like they married in Switzerland

It seems that Maddalena is the one you're looking for, as her parents' name are the same as you mention. But groom's name is Battista Robustelli Della Cana of the late Giuseppe
Giuseppe "Pippo" Moccaldi

Let me just add that they got married in Switzerland in Graubünden Canton, in the town of S. Moritz (now a world famous skying resort). The Graubünden Canton (also known as Grison in French and Grigioni in Italian) shares borders with Italy and Sernio and Saint Moritz are about 40 miles far.
From what I can read, the groom was born in Grosotto (very close to Sernio). His birth year is not very clear, seems 1878. Yes, his father's name was Giuseppe but cannot read his mother's name. The marriage year is 1907.

Thanks very much for your translations of this marriage certificate, it is very interesting that they married in St. Moritz, but it is clear it is the Maddalena Bassanelli I am researching. I'm very grateful.
