Hello,
Thanks for reading my post. I am searching for my birth father that to my knowledge resides in Naples. The only information I have is his name (Salvatore De Vita) and his approximate age (early 50's). I also know that my Grand Father was Marco De Vita. Marco De Vita and his brother (name unknown) both married daughters of Michael and Marianna Delorenzo beleived to be from Calabria. These are thes fact as I know them.
As you can see... that information I currently have includes no dates. This is makes it difficult to research. I really don't have the funds to obtain a professional researcher. Any suggestion on where I should go from here?
Any assistance is greatly appreciated!
Thomas

Re: Biological Father Search - "De Vita" of Napoli
De Vita is a very common surname in Italy and, particularly in the entire region of campania of which Naples is one province among several others. Can you provide the name of a town or a rpovince where he came from? I am thinking that we can obtain his military records if you are sure of the spelling of the last name and the approximate year of his birth. I surmise its about the operiod between 1950 and 1955. Fill me in. Peter

Re: Biological Father Search - "De Vita" of Napoli
what about a province?? Napoli, Salerno, Caserta benevento or Avellino??? Surely there has to be something more. Are there any old letters, postcards, fotos or family stories about Italy? Perhaps a Patron Saint of the town which we can then find the proper comune. Anything relating to the church in the town in Italy the family comes from?? Peter

Suanj suggestion is another good idea and it might help you if you write a letter to a potential relatives in Italian as she suggests. Go to www.mangeruca.com/potential-relative.htm for a copy of the letter. Peter
