My great-great-greatgrandparents are Francesco Matufu and Carmela Lanaia. I found this death record of a Marianna Matufu. With translation, I may be able to see if this is a relation to my family. Thank you.
It is hoped that the research I am doing helps to discover, preserve and celebrate my family history.
Francesco was 70 years old when he died. He was the son of deceased Antonino and what appears to be deceased Carmela Laria. He is also listed as the husband (marito) of Carmela Lauria.
Carmelo Cappadona, a farmer of age 40, was one of the two people who came to declare the death. No relationship is given...
Date of death was 22 December 1881.
I just found this marriage record for Marianna Matafu dated 1862. It has her married to Vincenzo Giovenco. However, on her death record it is noted that she was the widow of Giovanni Pelleriti (sp?) of which I cannot find a marriage record.
I just want to confirm that the information on her death record is correct about Giovanni Pelleriti. Thank you. ( records are noted in the previous posts above this one)
I hope I explained this correctly, it is getting confusing in my tree. Thanks so much.

I understand, and I really can't find an explanation.
The one thing I can think is there is an error in her death record.
I also thought she might have married Vincenzo first, and Giovanni then, but I couldn't find any death act for any of them.
I also want to add that Marianna's mother's surname seems to be Lauria.

My mom and dad came from two very different classes of Italian society. Dad's mom came from a very aristocrat family and mom's came from farmers and agricultural workers. When my mom's parents came to the US, they left their oldest son Giovanni in the care of my maternal grandmother's parents. I hea...
