Has anyone had experience with having an Italian birth record corrected?
My GGF's birth record shows the wrong name of the father in the Act itself, however the parents names are correct in the margin and the index. The comune has stated that they cannot issue an estratto with the correct name, only the one that appears in the act.
With some excellent help (from Ann Tatangelo), I have been able to obtain a copy of the baptismal record from the church which shows the correct parents names (matching the margin and the index).
Would someone be able to explain, at least in general overview, how one would submit this request before the Tribunale to get it officially corrected?
Thanks!
