What is the best way for me to get information about my Great Grandmother? Her name was Emilia Pappalardo and she was born in Agropoli. I've pasted in the information from a website and given it's URL. The information there is very accurate so far as all my maternal relatives listed under Serrapede and Muro are correct for my Grandparents' generation.
I do not speak or read Italian so would appreciate best way a novice can start the search. Also where would I find pictures, if any? My Grandparents did not have any photos to pass on of their families back in the Old Town of Agropoli.
Thank you in advance for any pointers at all.

Thanks Marty! There is certainly plenty to work with here. I will be busy for some time. I've been told Emilia was a very colorful character so I've been fascinated to see if I can dig up anything about her.

My great-grandmother was Caterina Pappalardo. We visited our distant relatives in Aci San Antonio, Sicily, Italy and the whole townn was full of them. The name was on every other statue..perhaps, your related? Not sure if it is a common name throughout italy but it is in that area of sicily.

It is a very common surname, especially in southern Italy. Italian White Pages list 3050 Pappalardo's.
