Can someone help me with the reading of the property type listed for Andrea Mastronardi, bracciale, on line 423 on this 1807 catasti onciari from Craco? The same phrase appears on lines 412 and 419. I read "semte padrole" but cannot figure out the meaning.
Thanks!
Lesley
Help with property type in catasti
Re: Help with property type in catasti
A follow-up to my previous message:
On the 1830 catasti, I'm seeing "seminatorio" listed as a property type on some records. What does that mean, and could the "semte" on the 1807 catasti be an abbreviation?

Re: Help with property type in catasti
So is a seminatorio padrole a forcing house--like a greenhouse?
Re: Help with property type in catasti
In the Catasto "seminatorio" means a piece of land that can be cultivated in opposition to woodland or pasture.
But I'm not sure of your reading of the abbreviation

That's helpful, Paola. The image of the record is above. Do you have a different reading of the abbreviation?
Re: Help with property type in catasti
Sorry, I can't figure it
The second word could be an abbreviation for "padronale" but usually it goes with the word casa "Casa padronale" = manor house, owner's house
