In searching birth and death certificates for my ancesters, I have found the words "vivendo ivi" after the name of a parent of the person on the certificate. Does this mean that the parent is deceased (on other certificates referred to as "defunto") or still alive? And what if it says only "ivi"?
Sorry -- may be obvious question, but I have seen it after a deceased parent and after a living parent, maybe in error! Thank you!

Re: "Vivendo ivi"
ivi = in quel luogo = "in that place, there"
vivendo ivi = living there
vivendo ivi = living there
Re: "Vivendo ivi"
Thank you for your response. It sounds like it would indicate that the person is still alive, or could it also mean that the person was once lining there but is no longer?
