Trying to prove US citizenship

Post by Kaylie »

I am posting on this forum, hoping to obtain information for a relative. He tells me that his mother Rosaria Rizzo was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1900 but then returned to Sicily with her family in 1916. A search of archives in Philadelphia did not turned up any birth records for Rosaria. A search of church records was made and a baptismal certificate was found for her. She had been baptized several months after her birth. Unfortunately, a baptismal certificate does not prove US citizenship. This search for proof of citizenship for Rosaria Rizzo is very important to my cousin, for it would mean that all children born to her are American citizens. I look forward to hearing from anyone that might be able to assist me in searching for Rosaria's birth certificate which would prove her US citizenship. Thank you

Her children could request it. Have they attempted to do so yet?
