Santa Caterina, Di Tretto, Schio, Vicenza, Italy

Post by ally »

I was wondering how to decipher this location;

I was checking LDS site and came across my grandfathers mother family Zanella, located marriage date, and always thought my great grandparents lived in Schio, but it lists the above as the hometown.
Is it just: Santa Caterina, Di Tretto, Schio I know Venice.

Also, in Ellis site the hometown for a gg uncle his list Magre?????

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!!

If you can copy the URL and paste it in the reply it would be even better, it not, a name will help.

Hi,

The name for the town of Magre is:

Giovanni Zanella, date arrival Dec 8, 1914 from Genoa
line #17

Also, Do you know about the above town, I thought Santa Caterina, and
Schio were two different towns, or something like that. My grandfathers surname is Santacaterina, but death cert lists Schio as hometown, as well as his Ellis listing :?

I know all family came to us to go to Rhode Island, main street near schoolhouse, Burrilville town. Or some say Harrisville. Also family migrated to West Hoboken, NJ at sometime or another. But this is the first i saw Magre'.
Thanks for your help!

Magre' di Schio, Veneto IT - Santa Caterina, Veneto IT

42 minutes driving time...

http://www.mapquest.com/directions/euro ... es=1&ovi=0

I'm not sure whether the Magre' in the Magre' di Schio means "the low waters of Schio"... maybe at one time it was called "Magre' di Schio" but just Schio today...

--------
I keep editing this post... just found out something else...

Magre' di Schio and Santa Caterina Di Tretto, Veneto IT is only 15 minutes driving time... quite the driving difference from the map I posted above...

------

also, there is Family History Film of just "TRETTO"

Topic Italy, Vicenza, Tretto - Civil registration

1809-1905  Tretto (Vicenza)... which is great!...
