Dated March 8, 1874 at 4 P.M. in the town hall of Pollica
Appearing was Domenicantonio Niglio, age 50, the son of an unknown father and Caterina Niglio. He was a day laborer. He presented a male infant born this morning at 10 from a single woman whom the law did not permit to be named. The infant was born in the house of his own habitation located on Strada Principe Umberto and was being given the name Carmine. The presentation was made in the presence of witnesses chosen-Carmine de Rosa, son of deceased Giuseppantonio de Rosa, age 68, and Angelo Giuda, son of deceased Giuseppe Giuda, age 56, property owners in Pollica. In the margin-by virtue of the celebrated marriage in this town of Pollica today-#3, Carmine Niglio is recognized by Signor Domenicantonio Niglio and Carmela Marano as their legitimate son-dated March 24, 1874 (the date the annotation was added to the birth record).

Witnesses were Signor Vincenzo Notaro, son of Francesco Notaro, age 40, property owner and Giuseppe Vessicchio, son of Marco Vessicchio, age 36, a notary.
Groom: Domenico Antonio Niglio, age 50, day laborer, son of unknown father and Caterina Niglio
Bride: Carmela Marano, age 42, day laborer, daughter of deceaased Domenico Marano and deceased Angela Vassallo.

The rest is the usual marriage dialogue concerning taking each other as husband/wife, etc.

In the marriage record, they also recognize Carmine Niglio, born from their natural union, as their legitimate son.
