Dell"Arciprete family from Arielli, Cheiti
Dell"Arciprete family from Arielli, Cheiti
My grandfather Salvatore Dell'Arciprete immigrated to the US sometime in the 1900's with brother Nicolo. I was able to find Nicolo's immigration records in 1912. He arrived in Philly. None for my grandfather. My grandmother came to Ellis Island in 1914 with the rest of Dell'Arciprete family. My grandparents and his family moved into Boston. Except Nicolo Dell'Arciprete.
They are all from Arielli, Chieti, Italy.
I have searched Ancestry.com and Ellis Island.
Does anyone have any idea of where I can go for assistance?

Salvatore Dell'Arciprete (your grandfather)
Your grandmother came to the US in 1914 with the rest of the Dell'Arciprete family.
Is Dell'Arciprete the surname of both granparents?

Italian women do not take their husbands surname, but retain their maiden name. In order to locate a ship manifest for your grandmother, you will need to search using the maiden name.

Re: Dell"Arciprete family from Arielli, Cheiti
Hello,
Sorry to say it's not my grandfather Salvator. He was born in 1892 in Arielli. Parents were Rocco and Carmela. He married Maria Marziale on Ellis Island in 1914. They moved to Swampcott, MA. That "img"; I believe is his brother Nicolo.

Thank You for everyone's help. I do appreciate it.
Salvatore was sending money back to the family and also sent a Letter of Proposal" for Maria Marziale. They were instructed to bring her to the US with them. They were married on Ellis Island days before they were getting deport her back to Italy. She wasn't allowed to leave the island until he came to get her.

The one maifest from Philadelphia is Salvatore's brother, Nicolo. That's what my one post stated, and Mjfp was kind enough to post it for you. That manfiest also stated that Nicolo left his father, Rocco, in Italy.
The other thing is that I did give you the WWI Draft Card with listed the date of birth for Salvatore.
Name: Salvatore Dellarciprete
City: Lynn
County: Essex
State: Massachusetts
Birthplace: Italy
Birth Date: Feb 18 1892
Race: Caucasian
Roll: 1674355
I also gave you the other manifest above of Rocco coming to the USA with Carmela. The information is in the above lmessage with the link.

I also stated there is microfilm for the town.

Re: Dell"Arciprete family from Arielli, Cheiti
Trish,
That is my grandfather. I do have those two manifest. I will send away for the microfilm at the Family Center.
As for Nicolo, I think he stayed in Philedphia. It wasn't until last year when Salvatore sister Loretta died is when I came across some paperwork from her daughters stating their was another brother named Nicolo. She was 5 years old when she arrived in Ellis Island.
Thank you for you assistance.
For everyone else Thank you also. For taking the time, I deeply appreciate it.
