You're very welcome.

Here's another website you should be checking. Right now, they don't have the records prior to 1866, but I am hoping they do eventually put those there for the town of Villalba.

Correcting the name of Maria Grazia to Guccione, and adding the arrival information has just provided me with this hint:

NAME: Maria Grazia Guccione
GENDER: Female
BIRTH DATE: 6 giu 1842 (6 Jun 1842)
BIRTH PLACE: Alia, Palermo, Italy
BAPTISM DATE: 7 giu 1842 (7 Jun 1842)
BAPTISM PLACE: Alia, Palermo, Italy
FATHER'S AGE: 40y
MOTHER'S AGE: 30y
FATHER: Pasquale Guccione
MOTHER: Carolina Biondolillo
FHL FILM NUMBER: 1331909
REFERENCE ID: yr 1842 rn 104

I wonder now if this possible "Biondolillo" connection between Maria Grazia's and Placido's mothers is what brought a Guccione to Villalba. I guess the next stop is the Alia marriage records to see if something turns up.

I just went through the marriage indices for Alia which go from 1866 to 1905 and they are not there. Also went through the indices at the end of the marriage years 1862, 1863, 1864, and 1865, and nothing there either.

So if this is Maria Grazia's town, and they married in Alia, the marriage would have been pre 1862, but those records are not online.

Since we know that her father was a Pasquale, and that she had a daughter named Carolina, the birth info you found could very well be hers.

I had the same thought that she may have named one of her daughters after her mother.

I also hope that you looked through those marriage records out of fun and curiosity, and not because you thought I was suggesting that you look for me. Either way, thanks for the effort. I've made more progress in the past few days then I would have ever expected, so I will now wait patiently for older records to come online to try to confirm what has been suggested. In the mean time I will track down the remaining children of Placido Mule' and his sister Rosa in the hope of teasing out some more facts.

I have some free time today, so that was why I went through those indices.

Anyway, if those are the correct parents of Maria Grazia, then you have a wealth of info on familysearch. I see that Pasquale and Carolina were married on Nov 16, 1834 in Alia. There are also a lot of siblings listed there for the Maria Grazia whose birth info you found. Anyway, I think though that for now you should concentrate on the Mule' line. If you find any other records and need help with the translations, just post them and either I or some other volunteer on the forum will help you.
