Born 1 July 1896 to Domenica Ciampa, daughter of Maria Cappiello. The father appears to be unknown and therefore the child appears to have been given the mother's maiden name.

Giovanni was actually born on 28 June and presented at the town office on 1 July :-)

Child was given the surname Ciampa because his father was Domenico Ciampa, husband of Maria Cappiello...
In the record it reads "...da Cappiello Maria moglie di Ciampa Domenico, contadina, convivente col marito, entrambe domiliciati in Rapone." which reads: "of Maria Cappiello wife of Domenico Ciampa, peasant farmer, living with her husband, both residing in Rapone."

Notation indicates that Giovanni married with Maria Fasciglione on 6 April 1931
