Well, I am back to the paternal family. I came back here to see about the age of Gaetano - somewhere in the back of my mind I remembered I had posted Annina's birth act. As usual, you beautifully cleaned up my rough translation. My apologies for not answering your post, Tessa. It is late, but always true, THANK YOU!

Rocco is listed as deceased on the marriage act of his daughter Rosaria in April 1892 -

You should look for his death before that date :-)

Death Act of Maria Valentina Zaccagnini 1899

http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... 3.jpg.html

9 Jan 1899, Turrivalignani
Official – Arturo de Pompeis
Reported by Domenico Iezzi, 28, peasant, living in Turrivalignani, and Carmine Canrano, 44, peasant, also living in Turrivalignani, stated that at 11:30 am, in Caselle, died Mari Valenina Zaccagnini, 90, peasant residing in Turrivalignani, born in Sanvalentino, daughter of Paolino [Zaccagnini}, peasant residing Turrivalignani, and Domenica Ceccomancini, peasant, while alive, living in Sanvalentino, wife of Domenico D’Angelo.
Witnesses – Domenico D’Agostino, 46, and Giovanetti Fortunato.

Could this be the wife of Urbano Iezzi, b 1807, d 1847? I have had big problems finding her in the Antenati, and it may be that her last name was left off, Zaccagnini. Maria Valentini was born 1807, is listed in Rocco Iezzi’s birth act, but seemed to fade away once that was recorded. It could be that she married again since she was only 40 when Urbano died leaving her with children. Unfortunately, no mention of Urbano in her death act. What do you think? I would appreciate any thoughts….and thank you!

Yes, this could be the Maria Valentina Zaccagnini who was the widow of Urbano...
I will look more closely at the record :-)

She was still living at the time that Rocco died...

Here is the death act of Rocco Iezzi in 1881
#18
Dated 20 October 1881 - death on 19th (ieri=yesterday) at 5 PM at the house in Belvedere.
Rocco was age 40, farmer from Turrivalignani, who was the son of deceased Urbano and of [living] Maria Valentini Zaccagnini, farmer residing in Turrivalignani.
He was the husband of Maria Nicola D'Angelo.
Declarants of the death were: Matteo D'Angelo, 46, farmer; and Sante Iezzi, 32, farmer; both residing in the town. [no relationship to the deceased is given in the record]
Witnesses to the recording of the death: Carmine Minconelli(?), 46, farmer; and Valentino Blasioli, 35, farmer.

Thank you! I was just about to post the death act for Rocco Iezzi here. Looks like I have most of the details correct, but I do miss the finer details. I felt like a detective with the Maria Valenini Zaccagnini find - so good to get resolution. Sad that she outlived both husband and son. While the act does not state the relationship of the witnesses, Blasioli and D'Angelo, it's safe to say they are family as these families intertwined. Cousins? In laws - who knows. I am focusing on getting the direct line first, documenting it, and adding to my tree. As it stands, there are 252 people in the tree. It is important to garner info from the siblings, and family, but I am trying to stay clear on the direct line first. Thank you so much!!!!

Just an FYI -
You should CONFIRM that this is the correct Maria Valentina Zaccagnani by locating the marriage to Domenico D'Angelo. I have noticed that there are many repetitions of given and surnames in the town.
Do you have her marriage act to Urbano?
Have you seen in any other records that YOUR Maria was born in San Valentino?

This is true - I will do my due diligence and find out. I do not have the marriage act with Urbano nor with Domenico but will find them. Geez, it was feeling so good there for the moment! But you are correct - no use basing it on the wrong line. Thanks for following up...PG
