Re: Help with translation
I've never seen this type of document before, but it was written in New York and reads as follows:
I, the undersigned Pasquale Boschelli, the son of deceased Luigi (Boschelli) living in Castiglione (Cosenza) but now a resident in America (New York) received from my father-in-law Michele Buccieri (then the name Michele is corrected to read Francesco, the son of deceased Michele Buccieri)-the sum of 425 lire. It was given by him in donation to the daughter Luisa Buccieri, the legitimate wife of Pasquale Boschelli, in addition to a trousseau (dowry) of furniture and linens valued at 212.50 lire. In the case of the dissolution of the marriage, without legitimate descendants, the sums would have to be returned to his father in law, Francesco Buccieri. The document is dated in New York in June 1900 and signed by Pasquale Boschelli.
