Travel in Sicily in mid 1700s

As a nation state, Italy has emerged only in 1871. Until then the country was politically divided into a large number of independant cities, provinces and islands. The currently available evidences point out to a dominant Etruscan, Greek and Roman cultural influence on today's Italians.

Travel in Sicily in mid 1700s

Post by ray1955 »

The conversion of KM to Miles tells me it takes 45min to get from Mussomeli to Vallelunga Sicily.
Approx 14.9miles.......

So if I had a relative in Mussomeli relocating to Vallelunga how would they have traveled in Mid- 1700s?

Does anyone know?

I am trying to put things in a book and want to be able to depict what it must have been like to make this
journey during this time.

Thanks.
