a tough cookie: Irmalinda Ginoff

Post by MikeCap »

Or Irmelinda, or Melinda, or Malenda... the variations abound.

DeAngelis is her married name, "Ginoff" "Ginoffi" or "Gioffi" is her maiden name. Born around 1885 somewhere in Italy.

according to a census she came here in 1907. However, her first born son is listed as a Massachusetts native, born in 1904. :?

Her husband Pasquale DeAngelis from Chuisano, Avellino, indicates he came here in 1894 via Naples to New York, New York but he didn't list the ship name.

Anybody want to help with this one?

That's incredible sleuthing. Thank you so much. So it looks as if they were married in the USA... that is interesting news. I assumed they were married in Italy.

I am going to Revere to get copies of these records. My mother-in-law will get a big kick out of this.

Thanks again.
